Every photo on this page is from a real Young Kiwis in AI event. No stock images, no staging, just young New Zealanders who turned up on a weeknight to talk about what they are building with AI. An in-person meetup usually runs a couple of hours in the evening: one or two member spotlights, then questions and open networking.

What you are looking at
Three formats show up in these photos. Meetups are the regular one: an evening with one or two member spotlights, where someone walks the room through what they are building, what went wrong and what they would tell their younger self, followed by questions and open networking. The Palmerston North photos are a good example, one of the talks and one of what happens afterwards.
Pitch nights are the second, like the SaaSathon in Christchurch, where teams take the stage and present what they have built. The third is the wider events we turn up to and speak at, such as Graduated into a World of AI in Christchurch, aimed at students working out what an AI-shaped job market means for them.
None of it is ticketed and none of it costs anything. Venues are usually provided by companies who host us, so you just need to turn up.
Cities we have not photographed yet
We have run events in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Dunedin, Hamilton and Palmerston North. Meetups in Tauranga, Napier-Hastings, New Plymouth and Nelson are in planning and will be announced once venues and dates are confirmed. If your city is on that second list, join the community and you will hear about it first.
Wherever you are in Aotearoa, the monthly online catchup on Discord runs on the last Monday of every month, so you do not have to wait for a meetup to reach your town.
